Wellbeing Week Workshops for Schools
Boost Wellbeing Week with Dance Days' workshops, promoting connection, activity, mindfulness, learning, and giving through diverse dance styles.

Wellbeing Week Ideas & Activities for Schools.
Using "The 5 Ways to Wellbeing" supported by the Mental Health Foundation is a great way to start looking at an event or workshop in your school to drive awareness and improve Wellbeing for all, helping all pupils from KS1, KS2 to KS5.
The 5 Ways to Wellbeing:
Connect - take the time to connect with everyone in your school. During our workshops, your pupils will work as a team and learn new skills. Why not include a sharing assembly at the end of the day to demonstrate what they have learnt, further improving confidence and recognition.
Get Active - it goes without saying, all of our dance workshops will get your pupils (and staff) moving. Depending on the chosen style and age group taking part, we can increase the level of activity to get the blood pumping. Our sessions last from 30 minutes up to an hour, typically for a 1 form entry school we can get the whole school moving during a full day.
Be Mindful - taking the time out of the day to focus on your bodies movement helps calm the mind, reduces stress, depression and anxiety. Our workshops include a mini warm-up and stretch, and your pupils will be focused on the here and now, listening to instructions and guidance from our facilitator. We can tailor the delivery to include extra time for calming movements and music (Just let us know when you enquire)
Keep Learning - your pupils will learn a new skill, spatial awareness, rhythm and timing and even connect with different cultures through dance. Learning a new skill keeps our brains healthy, and can be great for our mood. We provide dance workshops with over 30 different styles to choose from, and you can also mix and match the styles, this includes the on and off-topic themes.
For example, your pupils could learn some Bollywood dance in the morning and move to Street dance in the afternoon, or have several different styles throughout the day.
Give to Others - the Mental Health Foundation has lots of ideas on how you can give back, through fundraising or donating your time.
You could include a Non-uniform day as part of your workshop, or organise a pupil to pupil sharing session where those who have taken part to become the dance teacher and show the lower school or other classes what they have learnt.
Curriculum Topics
Our Wellbeing Week workshops are usually off-topic, so we include styles such as Musicals, Bollywood, Carnival, or Street dance.

Who is this workshop suitable for?
EYFS/KS1/KS2/SEND
A great way to start movement coordination, rhythm and of course, having a lot of fun dancing to upbeat music and using props (where applicable) for EYFS children.
As your pupils' key stage increases, so does the duration and pace of the workshop, and we start to include some partner work and more choreography.
Our dance workshops can be delivered within a special educational needs setting, and our dance team works with the pupils' abilities, ensuring all involved learn and feel part of the session. This could, as an example, include focusing on arm movements if your pupils use wheelchairs or incorporating the chairs into the movement.
