Dance Days Reviews & Testimonials

Oakdale Infant School

The children and staff loved it.
The instructors were energetic and passionate which grabbed the children's attention straight away.

I was amazed that by the end of the session 4 year olds were actually flamenco dancing.

It was wonderful to see.

Hounslow Heath Infant and Nursery School

We were looking for something special to celebrate the end of our Traditional Tales topic.

I found Dance Days who were perfect from start to finish. The booking process was easy, which is remarkable as we are a 7 form infant school and timetables can be tricky.

They were flexible, approachable and professional. The event itself was more of an experience than a workshop. The Strictly Dance experience was unique, fun and well-suited to the children's needs and the team adapted their program to fit with our topic.

The dancers themselves were fantastic; great with children and extremely talented - we were even treated to an amazing singing performance which left both staff and pupils speechless.

The children had a great time learning to Flamenco dance.

Darren was excellent with the children and they have been inspired to continue dancing in class, asking for Flamenco music to be put on. We have heard lots of 'Ole' being shouted!!

It was lovely to see the boys and the girls equally engaged and enthused.

I would definitely recommend to other schools.

Nerine's instructions and explanation were really clear for the children to understand and therefore they didn't find it too hard to begin their dancing.
The modelling ensured the whole class, including less confident individuals, could join in and the music was very fun. Overall, Year 2 thought it was a fantastic session and went home that day talking to their families about it.

Hawridge & Cholesbury C of E School

The Dance Days teacher arrived at the beginning of our 'Fit for fun' week and got it off to an amazing start. They kindly agreed to do a warm-up on the playground as children arrived, which they loved. They then delivered six sessions to children aged from 4 to 11, each one focussing on a different decade. They had an immediate rapport with the children and identified those who needed some encouragement. The children were all engaged and thoroughly enjoyed the workshops. We would definitely like 'Dance Days' to come back and deliver one of their themed days. (June 2015)

London Fields Primary School

Our KS2 classes had a brilliant time at their flamenco workshop. It was fantastic to see their initial uncertainty transform into enjoyment and achievement - even the teachers tried out some moves! We all had a fantastic time; thank you! (June 2015)

Gresham Primary

I was planning our schools annual 'Multicultural Week', which I have done for the past 8 years. I wanted to do something slightly different, and searched the internet for a Dance Workshop. I stumbled upon Dance Days and sent them a quick message. Within a short time I got a response from the Dance Days team, who were very helpful and accommodating. I was quite sceptical at first as I didn't know anything about this company and didn't know what to expect. After communicating through e mails, telephonic conversations and looking at their website, I decided to take the plunge and book Dance Days.
The Dance Days teacher was punctual, prompt, well organised, well prepared and ready to start the day.

After the first class had their workshop, I was very eager to find out how it went. The huge 'smiles ' I got from staff and children said it all!
'that was amazing!'
'that was brilliant!'
'it was pitched at just the right level!’
''the children really enjoyed that'
'How did they do that in 30 minutes?’ were some of the positive comments I got.

I was so relieved that it was a huge success and looked forward to the rest of the day! The positive comments and smiles kept coming all day. Our Multicultural dances culminated in the most amazing 'Performance assembly' at the end of the day that staff, children and parents are still talking about! Some comments were 'It was the best we have ever seen and done at Gresham!'' 'It was an absolute dance extravaganza to perfection!!!! Dance Days will definitely become a regular feature at our school and we will highly recommend them to all other schools!! (March 2015)

Reception/Y2/Y5 Teachers – Gresham Primary

The Dance Day teacher was excellent at bringing the children 'out of their shells'. They spotted the children who needed some special encouragement to let themselves go.

They was so wonderful with our youngest, they gave them the confidence to perform to the whole school. It was Great!!

Had the whole class engaged from the beginning. They were all part of a fantastic African dance taught in only 30 minutes! A great experience to add to our Multicultural Week. (March 2015)

Gresham Primary

It was superb to see all of our children letting go of any inhibitions, having a go and more importantly having fun! As a key part of our School Improvement Plan “is to see children expressing themselves, reflecting on learning, commenting on learning”, every part of the day fulfilled these aspects. The smiles on the children's faces as they danced and performed at the assembly at the end of the day, will live long in the memories of them all. (March 2015)

Gresham Primary

A fantastic experience for pupils and teachers alike. Engaging, interactive and thoroughly enjoyable. So much covered in just an half hour session, and finished off with a spectacular performance to the whole school! (March 2015)

Oakington Manor Primary School

The Dance Days workshop was incredibly energetic and I was so impressed with how engaged every child was. The smiles on all of the children’s faces made it clear that they enjoyed learning and performing the choreography. I particularly liked how the choreography was broken down into simple steps, which meant that all children could access the routine and feel like they had achieved something by the end of the session- there was a sense of celebration in the room. The dance teacher conveyed great enthusiasm, which in turn excited both students and teachers. All in all, it was a brilliant session that had a positive impact on the kids and left them wanting to dance for the remainder of the day! (January 2015)

Imran – Yr 5 – Oakington Manor Primary School

I really liked the dance session because the dances were easy to learn and the teacher made it fun. The music was loud and everyone was moving at the same time. I wish the session could have been longer! (January 2015)

Dance Days 2014 Reviews & Testimonials

Woodmansterne Primary School & Children's Centre

We have used Dance Days to deliver two different Dance Workshops at Woodmansterne Primary School. The dance teacher worked with our year 3 classes on a Bollywood/Indian dance and with the year 4 classes  on a Tudor dance performance. His warm personality and professional approach as dance tutor has made a positive impact on pupils and teachers as well. His dance lessons over a 4 week period were well planned and adapted to the pupils abilities and knowledge.
On the 4th final week, the pupils performed their dance routine in front of their families and parents. It was a great success and we have already booked Dance Days in summer term where they will deliver a dance workshop focusing on the African theme link to our curriculum topics. Dance Days work with our school will also stand out as outstanding evidence for the school applying for the Art's Mark. It was a pleasure to work with them from the planning stage to final delivery. (November 2014)

Bure Valley School

We have been privileged to work with Dance Days for three consecutive years, during which time we have explored African, Indian and Carnival dance. Dance programmes are tailored to suit the needs of the school and are always made more fascinating by the in-depth knowledge of the history of that element of dance. The choreographer brings dance to life for our children and their skills as an educator, as well as an inspiring dancer, ensure that every child gets the most out of their dance opportunity. The teacher also has the ability to make even the most self-conscious of school staff feel happy to dance along with their classes. In a relatively short space of time the dance teacher is able to give 260 children the knowledge and the confidence to perform in front of the whole school.Dance days are probably the most eagerly awaited element of our school timetable. Roll on next year! (June 2014)

Grove Park Primary School

It was a fantastic day and all the children enjoyed the day.We have nothing but praise for the dance teacher who visited our school. (June 2014)
